Properties:
White. deliquescent solid; chiefly in form
of beads or pellets, also 50% and 73%
aqueous solutions. Absorbs water and
carbon dioxide from the air; soluble in
water, alcohol and glycerol.
Use:
Chemical manufacture, rayon and
cellophane, neutralizing agent in
petroleum refining; pulp and paper,
aluminum, detergents, soap, textile
processing, rubber, regenerating ion
exchange resins, organic fusions, peeling
of fruits and vegetables in food industry,
lab reagent, etching and electroplating,
food additive.
